Another first. This time to be asked to look at a subsea application. My scope was to carry out a full design review of an innovative prototype BHA (Bottom Hole Assembly).
I had to take into consideration the increased pressure and temperature effects on the components and the gases at depths of around 2000m below sea level and then check this against the suitability and performance of the components, fittings, and pipework.
A very interesting project to be part of, and I relished the challenge of looking into developed pressures, material compatibilities, component selection, and suggesting design and operational improvements drawn from other sectors I work in.
