This was a first for me, to design a complete cutting and welding system for a jewellery workshop. The actual application is simply a miniature version of a cutting and welding system. The brief had very exacting demands though as it was to be installed for a high-end jewellery customer in London. The aesthetics, the footprint, the routing, all had to be meticulously thought out.
My scope covered most of my skill set, and included:
- Detailed design specification and P&IDs
- Site survey
- DSEAR Risk Assessment
- Written Scheme of Examination
- Full theory and hands-on training via an on-site workshop
